Join Our Book Club!

Each month, a group of NE District young adults meet after church for lunch to discuss a book (unless otherwise indicated!). Here is what we will be reading this summer and fall!

SUMMER READ

June & July - The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali

Each year, Tulsa City-County Library hosts One Book, One Tulsa to encourage Tulsa County residents to read the same book. The purpose of this program is to foster literacy within our community and to encourage conversation about a meaningful book.

We will be gathering to hear Marjan Kamali answer questions from the audience and sign books on Friday, July 31 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Central Library. We’ll have dinner before at a location TBA.

FALL READS

August - One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad

September - Solito by Javier Zamora

October - Separation of Church and State & Hate by John Fugelsang

November & December - The Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead

COlson Whitehead is this year’s winner of the 2026 Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award. We will be attending the free Public Presentation and Book Signing on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 5:30pm at the Central Library. We’ll grab dinner before!
